Celebrity makeup artist shares secrets to summer glow

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If your spring makeup routine needs a pick-me-up, how about some tips from one of the best in Hollywood?

Celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury has been making waves in the beauty business for more than 20 years.

"You would recognize my work from Vogue, Fancy Fam magazine, Allure, runways from Paris, New York, Milan," Tilbury said.

Her big name clients include Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston. She also worked with Amal Clooney at the Golden Globes earlier this year. After much success with A-list clients, she has launched a makeup line to share her secrets with the public.

"You dust it on your face where the sun will literally hit you and that gives you a lovely, glowy, bronzy glow," Tilbury said.

Her celebrity secret is to suck in your cheek bones as you apply the bronzer.

"Follow the hollow and that will give you really film star cheek bones," Tilbury said. "This is a trick that Jennifer Lopez always does on the red carpet."

To avoid looking too orange or wearing too much bronzer, she suggests one simple step that many people overlook.

"When you are putting your brush on the bronzer, tap it off the back of your hand to remove access and you blend, blend, blend. If you blend, you will never end with any streaks," Tilbury said.

To make sure your glow goes the distance, you need finished powder to set it. But beware because Tilbury says a lot of powders make you look dusty and cloggy.

She suggests finding an air brush powder that will smooth out lines and pores, like her Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder.

"Makeup artists are obsessed by the product because we have to use it on the red carpet all the time, in front of lights when you are filiming, in the Texas heat, it's amazing, It gives you that HD finish skin," Tilbury said.

She says apply the product along the T-zone area of your face to keep the sun-kissed glow.
