Residents worried about rapist on the loose
A man wanted in a string of sexual assaults on women has not yet been identified

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you recognize the guy in this sketch, Houston police want to hear from you.

The sketch is of a suspect wanted in at least three robberies and sexual assaults at two southwest Houston apartment complexes last month. Below are the times and locations of the incidents.

The suspect is described only as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and about 150 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing dark clothing and a gray hoodie. In the most recent incident, police say he was armed with a handgun.

In two incidents, police say the suspect targeted the female victims, who range in age from 17 to their mid-30s, in the apartment complex parking lots as they walked to their apartments at night, and sexually assaulted them. Police say he then took their purses, almost as an after-thought, but possibly to keep them from calling for help.

"He is basically telling them, 'If you scream, I'm going to shoot you,'" Kim Miller with the Houston Police Department said. "In one of the incidents, he had his fingers in this girl's mouth, holding her mouth open the whole time so she couldn't scream."

Police describe the suspect as especially violent and believe he may be from the area, since in at least one case he was seen running away on foot.

Anyone with information in these cases is urged to contact the HPD Robbery Division at 713-308-0700, the Special Victims Division at 713-308-1100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
