Houston H-E-B locations reopen after storm forced early closures

The Houston area was largely spared from the wrath of Hurricane Laura overnight when the storm moved more east than most projected tracks.

H-E-B was among the stores and businesses that decided to close Wednesday at 6 p.m., earlier than usual and ahead of the predicted landfall.

As of Thursday morning, Houston area H-E-B locations reopened at normal hours. Earlier in the week, those stores had hours adjusted.

The Texas grocer, though, announced some stores that were in areas more affected by the storm will remain closed until further notice as it assesses each location to make sure it's safe.

Stores in the Golden Triangle area of southeast Texas were identified including those in Orange, Beaumont, Groves, Port Arthur, and Lumberton.

In addition, customers shopping at H-E-B stores in Baytown and Mont Belvieu are being told to limit water multipacks and baby water multipacks at four each.
