Man shot in face during violent shooting in Houston's west side

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Sunday morning on Houston's west side.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 14000 block of Park Row Drive and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his face.

Investigators say the victim was shot in the cheek and lost a lot of blood, but he is expected to survive.

Police had to detain a friend of the victim during their investigation because he wasn't being cooperative. Officers do not think the friend is a suspect in the case.
