GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- A man accused of sexually assaulting a child for two years is on the run from police and authorities are asking for the public's help to find him.
Candido Rivas, also known as Candido Rivas Barcenas, 39, was indicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child and for bond forfeiture.
Police arrested Rivas in 2012 after he allegedly engaged in sex acts with a 9-year-old he knew. The alleged abuse, authorities say, went on for two years or more.
Following his arrest he was released on bail, then failed to appear for scheduled court hearings in his case, police say.
Rivas is Hispanic. He is 5'8", 185 pounds with black hair, brown eyes. His last known address was in Dickinson, Texas.
