Greater Houston Senior Football Showcase gives students unique opportunity to play ball

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A great opportunity to play college football -- that's the simple idea behind the Greater Houston Senior Football Showcase on the February 1.

Organizers will hold an NFL-style combine to match local players and schools from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, Division 2 and Division 3. Last year, it generated more than 300 scholarships offers to the 465 student athletes who attended.

"Great Universities. Great opportunity to get an education first and play college football. There will be coaches from all over the nation. From North Dakota, South Dakota, east coast, west coast trying to come here to get Texas kids," Jacques Bland said.
