Security guard shoots attacker at northwest Houston nightclub

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A security guard tells police he shot a man who rushed him at a club in northwest Houston early this morning.

The shooting happened at the El Corral Cervecero Nightclub in the 8100 block of West Tidwell near Highway 290 around 2sm.

Police say two men got into an argument inside the club. The guard says when he threw them out, one of the men jumped on his back and the other man tackled him.

The guard says that's when he pulled his gun and shot one man.

That man ran from the scene, and went to a nearby McDonald's. He was taken to the hospital.

The security guard will likely not face charges.
