Astronaut Scott Kelly prepares to spend a year in space

NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly is in Moscow preparing for his trip to space. He will soon live and work on the International Space Station for a year.

The unprecedented time in space is designed to help scientists understand more about our human physiology. NASA will learn how the space environment affects the human body over a longer period of time. The research could help NASA learn how much further we can go away from planet Earth.
