A Tomball mother donates a 125 foot tall cross in honor of her late son.

TOMBALL, Texas (KTRK) -- A very exciting sign of hope is coming to the city of Tomball.

A 125-foot tall cross was raised Wednesday morning at River of Praise Church and you can spot it for miles around.

Paula Whitaker donated the cross for her son Ryan, who passed away after a medical issue.

The cross will be the only one in north Houston. A dedication ceremony for The Cross at Tomball will be held April 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Paula is hoping the sight of this will give families the strength to keep going.
