Man stages crucifixion display
In honor of Easter, a man in Manvel is staging a crucifixion display

MANVEL, TX -- In honor of Easter weekend, one man is giving the world a real-life representation of Christ's crucifixion.

In Manvel, Joe Gaston is perched on a 16-feet-high wooden cross.

He's staging the crucifixion for 11 hours today outside of the Church of Harvest.

He started his display for 11 hours on Good Friday.

The man is positioned near a busy highway. Several people stopped and took pictures while others stood near the man and prayed.

Gaston says he is on a mission. He said, "I just figured since he is keeping me alive, I'm going to do what I can to keep the name Christ alive."

The pastor at the Church of Harvest tells us the demonstration is to remind people the true meaning of Easter.
