Catholic school children in San Antonio pray for Blue Bell

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Die-hard Blue Bell fans are doing all they can to get the business back up and running, with some even turning to a higher power for help.

Station KABB reports the students at the St. James Catholic School in San Antonio have been praying for the ice cream company. They're not happy that it shut down - and it's not just because they have a sweet tooth. The students understand Blue Bell had to lay off a lot of moms and dads.

One student said, "I want to tell them I wish they could get their job back."

Blue Bell recently laid off 37 percent of its work force. Meanwhile officials continue to review company procedures after its ice cream was linked to a deadly listeria outbreak.
