Person killed by METRORail train while crossing tracks in north Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A person has been hit and killed by a METRORail train in north Houston.

The accident happened on Fulton at Crosstimbers at about 10 a.m.

Witnesses say the driver screamed at the person who was crossing the tracks and hit the brakes, but the train couldn't be stopped in time.

The victim died at the scene.
