HOUSTON (KTRK) -- On Thursday, June 16, 2016, Uber is partnering with Houston SPCA to bring puppies on demand. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Houstonians can open the app, slide over to PUPPIES, and request 15 minutes of playtime for $25, and in turn, Uber will support Houston SPCA's animal protection efforts. All puppies will be available for adoption.

"This time of year we have so many pets at Houston SPCA in need of a permanent home. If you have been thinking about adding an animal to your home, now is the time," said Patricia Mercer, President of the Houston SPCA.

How It Works:

  1. Open the app from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 16

  2. Request the PUPPIES option.

  3. Once the puppies arrive, requesters will get to enjoy 15 minutes of puppy cuteness. PRO TIP: Make sure to have an enclosed space ready for puppy playtime

  4. Found your Most Valuable Pup? All puppies are eligible for adoption

"We expect demand to be high. If you can't get a puppy immediately, please refresh your app and keep trying," said Sarfraz Maredia the General Manager of Uber Houston.
