SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KTRK) -- President Donald Trump is facing backlash from environmentalists over shrinking the size of two national monuments in Utah.

Trump signed two executive orders Monday to roll back national monument designs from the Obama and Clinton era.

The order will cutback the size of the Bears Ears National Monument and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument by nearly two million acres.

The president says it's an important move for states' rights.
