Crash knocks out power to homes, businesses in Sugar Land

A crash has knocked out power to about 150 customers in Sugar Land.

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) -- Sugar Land police say CenterPoint Energy is working to restore power to the more than 150 homes and businesses that were left in the dark after an early morning crash in Sugar Land Saturday.

Police tell Eyewitness News a driver hit a power line just before 2 a.m. The person was not injured.

However, the crash snapped at least one power pole along Highway 6 and Settlers Way Boulevard.

At the peak of the power outage, 3000 homes and businesses were affected.

According to a tweet from the City of Sugar Land, traffic is now getting through the southbound lanes of Highway 6 at Settlers Way Boulevard. Only one right lane is closed.
