Houston father accused of killing 3-year-old over potty training accident

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston father is charged with killing his child over a potty training incident.

Anthony Powell is accused of hitting his three-year-old son so hard he fractured the child's skull. The toddler died Friday at Texas Children's Hospital.

Powell, 24, is charged with capital murder.

Powell's sister, Prosha Land, is also charged in connection with the boy's death. Prosecutors say while she is not accused of assaulting him, she did nothing to protect her nephew. Land, 23, is charged with injury to a child by omission.
