Elections 2016 see an increase in Houston's Hispanic voters
Houston witnesses a surge among Latino voters

A look at the surge in Hispanic voter registration going into the November presidential election. Guests are Hector DeLeon with the Harris County Elections Office and Norma Torres with Mi Familia Vota. According to the Harris County Voter Registrar, Harris County has added over 150,000 new Latino voters since the last presidential election because of the addition of about 1,2000 newly naturalized citizens added each month to the voter rolls.

Viva Houston is an ABC-13 community affairs program focusing on issues, topics and people of relevance to Houston's Hispanic community. The half-hour program is hosted by ABC-13 anchor Erik Barajas and features studio interviews, as well as taped reports. The program is broadcast on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month and airs primarily at 12:30pm and periodically at 5:30am.
