Police on Thursday raided a Port Arthur nursing home where dozens had to be rescued during Harvey.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas (KTRK) -- Police are investigating a Port Arthur nursing home where dozens of elderly people had to be rescued during Hurricane Harvey as the floodwaters rose.

On Thursday afternoon, investigators executed a search warrant and seized a number of items from the facility.

Authorities are interviewing the survivors of the flooding, their family members, and facility staff to determine if anything was done wrong during the evacuation or if it should have happened sooner.

Investigators said they have been inundated with calls from residents' family members about the evacuation.

A Port Arthur police officer told Eyewitness News in August that they were flagged down by a concerned boater after a disturbance broke out at the facility as relatives tried to remove patients during the flooding.

As many as 74 patients were in the facility as the water began to rise.
