SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities are investigating a shooting at a motel parking lot in the Spring area.

It happened Tuesday around 7 a.m. at the Motel 6 on Cypresswood Court.

We're told that there were several shots fired in the parking lot.

Motel guests told Eyewitness News Reporter Jeff Ehling that they heard the shooting this morning. When they came outside, the entire back parking lot was taped off.

Crime investigators continue to look for evidence and a possible suspect.

A hotel guest we spoke with said they were surprised by what happened.

"I'm scared because I thought Spring and The Woodlands area was little less crime, you know pretty safe. I've never been to a crime scene," guest David Gregg said.

The shooting victim was taken from the parking lot to a nearby hospital. There's no word on the condition of the victim.
