Police find robbery suspect hiding underwater in NW Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man is behind bars after police say he tried to hide underwater after an attempted robbery in northwest Houston.

Police say the man and two other people robbed a woman Saturday night, and then led authorities on a short chase that ended on Hammerly and Brittmore Street.

A police K9 found one of the men in a retention pond trying to hold his breath underwater.

Police say the other suspect got away.
