Update on the bird rescued from run-in with a window

Last week, we found an injured bird in the courtyard at the ABC13 studios. We think he flew into a window.

He had a little bit of bleeding from his beak, so I took him to TWRC, a local wildlife rehabilitation center.

The center volunteers took some down some information on our little bird, including where and when he was found. A vet will check him out and see if needs any treatment. The volunteer said we did the right thing by bringing him into the center to be looked at. We'll get an update on his condition in a couple of weeks. If he recovers, he will be released back into the wild.

We think he is some sort of warbler...migrating through our area.

I'll let you know what we hear about his condition.

While I was there, I got to see some of the other animals recovering at TWRC. All kinds of baby animals needing lots of care. All the animals that recover will eventually be released back into the wild.

Raccoon

Fox

Opossum

If you are interested in volunteering to help care for these animals, contact TWRC (http://www.twrcwildlifecenter.org/volunteer/)for information on upcoming volunteer training sessions. They are always looking for volunteers, especially this time of year.
