THE WOODLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- Firefighters in The Woodlands rescued a lost dog stranded in a creek, Monday.

The female dog had gotten stuck on a limb in the middle of a creek during storms that blew through the area. Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies had tried to lure the dog to safety to no avail.

The Woodlands Fire Department didn't use their boat's motor so they wouldn't scare the dog. They instead paddled the rescue boat in the water to retrieve her.

The dog had a microchip and she was returned to her owners soon after the rescue.
