HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A northwest Harris County woman is hoping someone can help her locate her English Bulldog puppy which was stolen from her home Wednesday, along with a cache of guns.

Diamond Lopez says her 10-week-old puppy named "Klyde" was stolen around 1pm Wednesday after someone broke into her home in the 11000 block of Springsong Drive. He'd just had surgery to fix a cleft palate and is supposed to be on antibiotics and pain medication.

"I'm afraid that they're just going to neglect him or just drop him off somewhere, you know, or not even care," said Lopez. She filed a report with the Precinct 4 Harris County Constable's Office.

The thief entered her home through the back door, which she believes was locked but not dead-bolted. A neighbor reported that he saw a man back his vehicle up in the driveway, though the only description he was able to provide of that was a green-ish blue older model sedan with low profile tires and chrome rims. Lopez says that man left behind jewelry and electronics. Among the guns taken she says, was an AK-47.

She worries most about Klyde, telling us, "That little baby needs to come home. He needs meds, he needs to be taken care of."

Lopez posted flyers on a number of social media sites advertising Klyde's disappearance. Thursday morning she received a cryptic text in which a man claimed to have found the dog in San Antonio. He told her his nephews took it with them to an address in Austin, which he supplied to Lopez. The person who sent the text, however, would not provide a picture of the dog. She fears someone may simply be attempting to scam her.

Lopez has asked police in Austin to go to that address and help her determine if this is her dog.

If you recognize Klyde and know his whereabouts, you can contact the Pct. 4 Harris County Constable's Office.
