Dozens of pets rescued from filthy home in South Houston

A social worker alerted animal authorities to the case

About 50 small dogs were found in a South Houston home today along with three birds.

SPCA officials say the house is filthy and smells of urine and feces.

An elderly couple lives in the house on Pennsylvania Street. A state social worker came to check on their welfare and found the deplorable conditions.
