Dog returns to owners after long trip
A dog went on a cross-country journey this holiday season after he was accidentally picked up by a truck driver

A dog in Washington State is finally back home after a bizarre cross-country road trip without her owners.

Kendra and Colt Brown's dog named Penny is a seven-month-old Viszla that went missing while Colt was at work. After some detective work, the couple realized their puppy had been picked up by a truck driver.

The truck driver said he was going to try and return the dog, but the next time the couple talked to him, he was headed in the wrong direction.

And then they got a call from an animal shelter on Christmas Eve, asking them when they could pick the dog up -- in Pennsylvania.

The couple sent out calls for help via social networking and received lots of help - including a free flight for Penny from Alaska Airlines. That is, after another volunteer drove her from Pittsburgh to Baltimore. And after all that, there was still a three-hour drive home from SEA-TAC.
