A pet owner has lost several beloved animals after her home went up in flames

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Several animals are dead after a house fire in southeast Harris County.

Firefighters just put the fire out on a home on Corkwood.

The fire began around 3am, and you can tell by the damage that the home is a complete loss at this point.

The homeowners were thankfully not at home when the fire broke out, but we are sad to report that several small animals do not appear to have survived.

Firefighters tell us by the time they arrived, there was nothing they could do to save the animals.

The flames became so intense that volunteer firefighters decided to call HFD for backup.

You can see the heavy trucks that arrived to help put out the blaze.

The homeowner is understandably distraught after losing not just her home but her beloved pets.
