HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It took overtime, but North Shore gladly will take their second ever state championship, defeating Austin Westlake 21-14 at NRG Stadium.

North Shore was able to use all facets of the game to win this one. When they needed offense, they got it. Quarterback Maciah Long was huge throughout, scoring the game winning touchdown in overtime. If it wasn't for Ka'Lavon Chaisson, North Shore would not have the chance to win.

In the closing seconds of regulation, with Westlake threatening to win on a late field goal, Chaisson came up with the block to force the extra session.

North Shore's last state title came in 2003.
