Yellow Cab takes homeless for free meal with Santa
More than 125 women and children were blessed with quite a surprise this morning, thanks to two companies in Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- While the Hard Rock Café says it is closed Thanksgiving Day, passerby were likely to notice the hit tunes, the lights on and everything in full swing this morning.

For the 27th year, the restaurant donated its time and resources to cook turkey and all the fixings for some Houstonians in need.

The Star of Hope Mission says 50 contractors from Yellow Cab drove over 125 women and children from the mission's Transitional Living Center for the feast.

Melissa McGehee, general manager of Yellow Cab, said the parade of yellow vehicles traveled down 288 on Thanksgiving morning and right to the front doors of the iconic restaurant downtown.

Santa Claus was an unexpected guest, who showed up with a sack full of goodies for the young girls and boys.

Hard Rock Café said its "Love All, Serve All" motto rang true as they worked to reach out to those in need during the holidays.
