Deputy constable's cruiser struck in head-on crash with wrong-way driver

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constable is recovering after being involved in a head-on crash in north Houston. The accident happened at about 2:20am on the Beltway 8 feeder near Greens Crossing.

The deputy was heading eastbound when a pickup truck traveling the wrong direction slammed into the front of his cruiser. Neither driver was seriously hurt, but the patrol car suffered substantial damage.

The constable's office says the pickup driver was heavily intoxicated and taken to jail.
