Oklahoma City woman wakes up, finds robber standing over her

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (KTRK) -- It was a rude awakening for an Oklahoma City woman.

Pam Spencer woke up in bed Thursday night to find a robber standing over her. Spencer tells ABC affiliate KOCO-TV she was afraid for her life, and that in the 30-years she has lived in the neighborhood nothing like this has ever happened before.

"Terror, pure terror," Spencer said. "I was woken up by a young man standing beside my bed telling me to get up and give him the money."

Spencer recalled the terrifying ordeal, telling KOCO-TV that she gave the robber everything she had in her purse. She says the man ransacked her belongings before finally leaving.

"It was scary, very scary," said Spencer.

Spencer believes the thief plotted the robbery and specifically chose her home.

"The way he came in, I think he's been checking this door for the last few nights," Spencer said.

Neighbors told police they saw the suspect riding away from the house on a bike. Spencer now plans to keep her pistol by her side at all times.
