A woman in Sugar Land was tied up and hit in the head during a home invasion on Monday, police say.

SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- Sugar Land police say a woman home alone was terrorized when two men came to her door, knocked, and, when she answered, barged inside.

Police say the two unidentified Hispanic men tied her up and hit her in the head.

They ransacked the woman's home and eventually escaped with jewelry and other items.

The woman was hospitalized at St. Luke's in Sugar Land with a head injury. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Police say they believe the home, in the 4600 block of Summer Lakes, was targeted.

Austin Parkway Elementary was temporarily placed on lockout status, but that has since been lifted.
