Woman stabs man at youth football game in La Marque

LA MARQUE, TX (KTRK) -- A woman stabbed a man at a youth football game last night in La Marque.

La Marque police say three people -- two 32-year-old women and a 29-year-old man -- were involved in the incident that happened around 7:15pm at the La Marque High School practice field.

Police say the man was stabbed multiple times in the head and torso and transported via LifeFlight to UTMB Galveston. He is expected to be OK.

A board member of the La Marque Cougars Youth Football League tells Eyewitness News it all started as a domestic dispute involving two parents in the league. Witnesses say the man and woman were arguing when the woman pulled out a knife and stabbed the man.

A motive for the stabbing is unclear at this time.

Investigators detained the two women and interviewed them, but did not immediately arrest them or decide on if charges are appropriate. Police say they need more information and will likely continue interviews today.
