HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 74-year-old woman is counting her blessings after coming face-to-face with an armed robber.

Irma Montez, who owns a housing management company, says she was picking up rent money from a tenant around 8pm on Saturday.

In surveillance video, while Montez is making the exchange with her tenant, two suspects can be seen hiding with a gun.

"As soon as she gave it to me, she (tenant) got in the car and backed out," Montez said. "I was looking down because I pulled out my cell phone."

Montez says that's when two men came up to her truck.

"I heard something bump on my window," she said. "I just knew I was going to get killed. I said oh' Lord, he's going to kill me because he had it (gun) towards my head."

As she tried to drive away, one of the suspects bashed in her window.

"He reached here and got my purse that was sitting on the seat and ran back that way," Montez said.

The suspects got away with hundreds of dollars that belonged to other landlords.

"Lord I am thankful, I'm so thankful that God saved my life," she added.
