Woman killed in fire outside Katy nursing home

KATY, TX (KTRK) -- A woman who was airlifted to the hospital Wednesday evening after getting burned in a fire at a Katy nursing home has died.

The fire happened outside the facility but on the property of a nursing home in the 6000 block of George Bush.

A woman was transported via LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital with severe burns, according to the Katy Fire Department. She died Thursday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
