Woman hit by car, run over by another vehicle in northwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman is in the hospital after she was hit by a car, then run over by a second vehicle in northwest Houston last night.

Police say the woman was struck as she tried to cross the road near Windfern at Hempstead.

The car that first hit her kept going, but the second one stopped to help the woman.

She was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with severe head injuries.

Police have not released her condition.
