Woman accused of stealing money by confusing cashiers in Spring

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Montgomery County deputies are searching for a suspect accused of stealing money from restaurants.

Surveillance video from Hello Taco in Spring captured the suspect trying to confuse the cashier.

According to investigators, the suspect tried to order two tacos with $100. After placing the bill on the counter, the suspect quickly removed the money when the cashier turned their back.

Once the cashier returned with the food order, the suspect claimed the cashier had already taken the cash and demanded her change.

"I don't know why people are doing it," Russell Kalousek said. "The best thing to do is to go get a real job and earn the money the right way."

The thief got away with $92 and was last seen driving away in a white Honda Odyssey. Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
