CAROL STREAM, IL -- A woman is accused of putting nail polish remover in her 17-month-old stepdaughter's baby bottle, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney in Illinois.

Andrea Vazquez-Hernandez, 36, is charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of domestic battery. A judge set her bail at $250,000 on Tuesday.

Police say they responded to a call at Vazquez-Hernandez's home on May 29th about a child who may have ingested nail polish remover.

Investigators spoke with the victim's father, who reportedly said that he had attempted to give his daughter milk in a bottle and that she immediately spit it out. The child's father told police that he immediately brought his daughter to the hospital and all tests performed there came back normal.

Investigators say that at some point earlier in the day the Vazquez-Hernandez allegedly added approximately one-inch of nail polish remover to her stepdaughter's baby bottle.
