HOUSTON (KTRK) -- In pictures, they looked like a very happy family. Their Facebook accounts are packed with good memories. County records show Tu Huyun married her husband Steve Hafer three years ago. Together, they share a young daughter.

Neighbor Juanna Jimenz said, "In this neighborhood, I've never heard a story like that."

Yesterday, a neighbor watched on his surveillance camera as police officers, an ambulance and a fire truck showed up at their northwest Houston home near the Beltway and Clay Road. Police say, Tu called 911 and said her husband killed himself. But once investigators got inside their home, they say, they found other evidence pointing to murder. Tu, 29, was arrested for shooting and killing her husband.

"It's just shocking. Crazy. I wouldn't imagine that. I definitely don't want to blame her for anything. You don't know what the circumstances were. That is just scary."

Neighbors describe seeing Steve walking their two poodles on their street. By all signs, they say the couple was quiet and very pleasant. Police records show there were no calls for help from their home in the last year, until yesterday.

Another neighbor, Iliana Filipia, described her thoughts on the tragedy.

"Well it's bad that sometimes we don't what's going on next door, ya know. That's bad."

Police have not said whether the couple's young daughter was inside the home at the time of the shooting or where she is residing now. Hafer worked as an engineer for J.D. Abrams based in southeast Houston. The company released a statement saying, "We are saddened for Steve's loss and our thoughts are with his family."
