Water main break near downtown Houston causes mess

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A water main break near downtown Houston is causing a major mess in the area.

A city of Houston public works spokesperson says a contractor working on a project off Allen Parkway and Taft hit at least one water line. Crews are at the scene trying to figure out if an 8-inch line or a 12-inch line -- or both -- are affected.

Businesses in the area are out of water.

That stretch of Allen Parkway also appears to be flooded, though cars can still get through.
