Washateria in east Houston smashed in apparent robbery attempt

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An apparent thief backed a truck into a washateria in east Houston early this morning, but left without taking anything.

The manager says there wasn't any money in the Lathrop Washateria on Market Street.

Witnesses saw the white Ford F-250 smash through the front doors of the business around 1am.

The driver was able to back out and drive off.
