ROSENBERG, TX (KTRK) -- The voluntary evacuation that was in effect for certain residents of Rosenberg has been lifted.

Initial reports showed the Brazos River would crest at 50.1 feet. New reports predict the level will be 46 feet, well below the flood stage.

The National Weather Service advises people to stay away from the river until water levels recede and drivers avoid any water covered roads. Also, they say livestock and equipment should remain out of the flood plain for the next few days.

Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route.
