PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida -- Newly-released video of the fatal car crash involving tennis player Venus Williams reveals more detail about the June 9 accident.

Palm Beach Gardens Police obtained the video from a community's surveillance camera.

You can see Williams' vehicle proceeding into an intersection, but she stops as an approaching car turns left in front of her.

Police say Williams had a green light and her stop in the intersection to avoid a collision was legal.

She proceeded after the vehicle passed but by that time, the light turned green for oncoming traffic. That's when a vehicle approached from the side, striking Williams' car.

A passenger in that vehicle died in the hospital two weeks later.

Fault for the accident was previously assigned to Williams and that has not changed at this point. The victim's family is suing her for wrongful death.
