Surveillance video shows a man holding a fast food restaurant employee at knifepoint during a robbery

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Surveillance video released today shows a frightening scene that played out in an east Harris County restaurant: a robber holds a female employee at knife-point until cash from the register is handed over.

The robbery happened on March 7 in the 300 block of Uvalde around 9:15pm.

The employee told Harris County Sheriff's deputies the man approached the service counter, grabbed her by her shirt collar while holding a knife to her throat and demanded all the cash in the register. The victim did what he asked and the man fled.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'7" to 5'8" tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a white baseball cap, dark blue shirt and tan pants at the time of the crime.
