HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A northwest Houston Walmart parking looked like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds."

The sea of black has created quite the view in the parking lot near Hollister and Tidwell Road.

"Unbelievable! Invasion of the blackbirds," Tami Denny said.

Denny posted a video on Facebook of the blackbirds, which as been shared over 81,000 times.

Denny says she's seen the blackbirds in other places across Houston.

"I have seen this before at Walmart, but I've also seen it at Neiman Marcus, the Galleria and they used to be down in Saks," she said.

Hannah Bailey is in charge of the bird collection at the Houston Zoo and says the blackbirds gather in large groups to find food, search for warmth as the season changes, and for safety.

"They are part of our environment and help with insect control throughout our area, so while they might be messing up your car, remember they are eating bugs and mosquitoes, so be happy for that," Bailey added.
