KATY, TX (KTRK) -- The newest water attraction just outside of Houston is set to open this weekend.

Typhoon Texas is located near Katy Mills Mall. The water park features of 35 slides, including a kids area, a lazy river which spans five football fields, and a Texas sized wave pool.

According to the Economic Development Council in Katy, the park is expected to bring in nearly $15 million in revenue in the next 10 years. The park already employees 800 seasonal workers. The council hopes that the waterpark will attract more entertainment venues to the area.
