Drivers report damage to vehicles due to asphalt problem

KEMAH, Texas -- Drivers along S.H. 146 report damage to vehicles after asphalt being put down stuck to tires and vehicles.

The Kemah Police Department posted a picture of a TxDOT vehicle with asphalt covering the tires.

TxDOT says a problem caused asphalt not to stick to a roadway in Kemah.

Miles of cars backed up could be seen from SkyEye.

One of the contractors put down some asphalt mix that had issues and didn't stick, a TxDOT representative said.

TxDOT says anyone with concerns over damage should file a complaint on the TxDOT website.
