Body in truck leads to murder arrests
A witness found the body in a pickup truck that was leaking blood

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- "Don't be messing with my truck."

"Curiosity kills the cat."

Those two statements were allegedly made by the man driving the truck in which a man was found murdered yesterday in Conroe, according to the man who then discovered the body. He did not heed the warning.

"There was blood around the back of the truck and I saw there was actually a body wrapped up in tarp in the back of the truck," said Nicholas Preusser.

Preusser says he and his boss called police after making the horrific discovery in the 9000 block of North Crystal Springs Circle.

Police say the victim, identified now as Joel Aponte, 48, was shot to death sometime Wednesday evening while inside a home on Woodland Hills Drive in Conroe. A witness says Aponte was shot in the torso. She told investigators she was held against her will but was able to escape while the suspects were moving the body.
