Traffic stop leads to chase in Tomball

TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- A routine traffic stop turned into a police chase lasting more than hour across the city early this morning.

Just before 2am a Department of Public Safety trooper attempted to stop the suspect on the Beltway and Vickery, but he refused to stop.

After more than 30 miles and several spike attempts, the man ran off the end of the road at the entrance to Hooks Airport at Steubner Airline near FM 2920 in Tomball. He was taken into custody.

At the time he ran off the road, he was traveling on just the rims of his tires.

He is facing multiple charges.
