Tractor theft investigation leads to equipment recovery worth thousands

WASHINGTON COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Authorities said a report of a stolen 5510 John Deere tractor in Washington County led to the recovery of $80,000 in equipment.

According to Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanack, a tractor equipped with a front-end loader, was stolen from Harrisburg road near Highway 290.

Sheriff's investigators said they determined that the suspects involved were responsible for the theft of at least four other tractors from Washington, Austin and Colorado Counties.

Joseph Cummings, 22, of Bellville and Timothy Clark, 45, of Brookshire have been charged in Washington County for the thefts.
