HOUSTON -- A 3-year-old girl in Santa Clarita, California, was snatched from her bedroom by a stranger.

The girl's 4-year-old sister alerted her parents after the girl's alleged abductor sneaked up to the home north of Los Angeles after 7pm Thursday night while the girl watched TV with her sister.

Detectives say the suspect walked behind their apartment and opened this window and called to the girl. He called the little girl to him. When she got close he reached in and snatched her.

LA County Sheriff's Dept. Joshua Dubin told ABC News, "He was able to grab onto her and pull her through the window holding onto her run down the street."

ABC News' Brandi Hitt reports the girl's sister is being called a hero for running to tell her father.

The family flooded the street and the victim's uncle found the suspect, pinned him to the wall and took the little girl back, unharmed.

Ethan Odom, 37, is now behind bars. He has not yet returned a plea for charges of suspicion of kidnapping.
